Re: 2023-017 Conditional Use Permit 12-33-300-004
Linnea Kooistra, Vice -Chairman, and the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals,
The Seneca Township Board met and discussed the public hearing for the above
mentioned property on May 9, 2023. The request from the applicant ASD Solar Seneca IL Solar
LLC requesting a conditional use permit to allow for a commercial solar (farm) energy facility.
The petitioners were not present to state or discuss their case.
At this time, the Seneca Township Board agrees that this request would be in violation of
502.3 standards for conditional uses numbers 4 (use and enjoyment of other property in the
vicinity), 5 (diminish, impair, and lower property values), 9 (is not in the interest of public welfare
at all).
The decision reached by the Seneca Township Board was a unanimous vote NO against
granting the requested conditional use permit for ASD Solar Seneca IL Solar LLC. Seneca
Township would strongly encourage and would support the zoning board to deny the request.
